ABOUT THE CARVER FILES
The Carver Files is the original Public Forum Debate handbook prepared by former National Champion Patrick Carver and his team of Public Forum Debate Champions. Step confidently in to your round with the best Public Forum research material available. Topic overviews and strategy analysis directly from the former champions of the event is what separates The Carver Files from other Public Forum handbooks. There is no better way to prepare for the topic than with the wisdom, insight, and experience you receive with The Carver Files. Debaters from all over the country have benefited from the most complete research and analysis available.
First, there is the veteran creator of the Carver Files, Patrick Carver. Patrick created the Carver Files two years ago in order to provide an online resource for debaters everywhere and to continue to take part in the debate experience. Patrick's credentials pretty much speak for themselves. In 2004, Patrick won the MSHSAA District Championship. That same year he swept the Public Forum National Championship with an amazing record of 15 wins and no losses. The next year he returned to the Public Forum National Championships and took third place after being narrowly beaten by another member of our staff, James Colston.
Ryan Childress is our new Vice President of Research and Development. Childress is currently the Assistant Director of Forensics for the nationally renowned Parkview High School Debate Team. He was a MSHSAA double state champion in Extemporaneous Speaking and Policy Debate in 2005. Additionally, Childress was a Top 50 speaker in United States Extemporaneous Speaking in 2004. Recently he received the Missouri State University CEDA Debate Team Regents Scholarship.
Emma Bentley is one of the new additions to the team. Emma was Patrick's partner in Public Forum Debate and shared the victories at the 2004 MSHSAA District Championship, the 2004 Public Forum National championship, and the third place National Championship victory in 2005. Emma has also won many invitational championships. Patrick and Emma have always been a great team and she was the first choice when it came to expanding staff for the Public Formula.
James Colston is another new member of the Formula. In both 2004 and 2005 James swept his NFL District Championships. In 2004, he also placed in the top forty in Public Forum Debate at the NFL National Championship. The next year he won the Public Forum National Championship, making him the third national champion on staff. James, as well as Jessica were both part of the national powerhouse debate program at Neosho High School.
Jessica Bentz is our final champion. In 2005, Jessica won the Missouri State Public Forum Championship, making her the top debater in the State. Jessica has also had her share of success on the national scene. In 2005, she placed in the top thirty in Foreign Extemp at the NFL National Championship. In 2003, she placed in the top thirty in Public Forum at NFL Nationals. The next year she returned to NFL nationals and took fourth in Public Forum. Like all our champions, Jessica has won numerous invitational championships in addition to her most notable accomplishments.
