DebateAddict is the first and only online research collaboration program specifically designed for Debaters and Coaches. Each member of your team can login to the DebateAddict website to upload, search, sort, and retrieve cards cut by any other member. The system can be used simultaneously by all members of your team, instantly putting all of your research in one place accessible at any time, and from any place.

Cards are easily sorted into topics and topic folders. The user cutting the card can specify the source, author, credentials, article title, date, page number, sub-issue, and tag for each card that they cut. DebateAddict automatically keeps track of the user who cut the card, the date it was cut, and the changes made each time it is modified. DebateAddict also counts the words in each card, allowing it to estimate the time needed for each user to read the card based on the user's individual speaking speed.

Cards can be printed directly from DebateAddict, sorted into briefs online, or downloaded into a word processor for further manipulation. Because DebateAddict stores each field, you can select the DebateAddict card layout that best suits your needs, or you can create your own layout from scratch. If you adjust your layout from time to time, DebateAddict automatically applies the changes to every card in the system.

DebateAddict is designed for speed. It is specifically tailored to allow the user to cut more cards in a shorter period of time than any other system (including word processors). After a user enters a card, DebateAddict streamlines the process of entering another card from the same source. With one click of the mouse, DebateAddict brings up a "New Card" form with every field populated based on the previous card, except for the Tag and Card Text fields. Using this system, an experienced user can enter their first card in as little as 30 seconds, and their second, third, and subsequent cards, in as little as 10 seconds each. DebateAddict similarly makes it easy to correct mistakes in card citations. If a user changes the author, credentials, source, article title, article date, or topic of one card, DebateAddict allows the user to apply those changes to all cards cut from the same source.

DebateAddict has become an indispensable tool for coaches because it allows them to keep track of student productivity. Coaches can use DebateAddict to determine the number of cards cut by each student within a specified timeframe, and they can view the cards cut by each student to correct quality issues before they become major problems. Many coaches now assign students to cut a weekly quota of cards using DebateAddict, which simplifies the grading process. Students can also access the reporting tools, which spurs friendly competitions among teammates to cut the most cards.

Each individual user must have a separate username (the same username cannot be used to access DebateAddict simultaneously from more than one computer). Besides the requirement for individual usenames, a DebateAddict subscription has no limits. Each user can save unlimited cards, briefs, topics, etc., and there is no limit to the amount of backfiles that you can accumulate.
